FG Declare Public Holidays For Christmas, New Year Festivities!




The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations.


In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended warm wishes to Nigerians, encouraging everyone to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and unity that the festive season represents.


Dr. Tunji-Ojo highlighted the season as a time for fostering harmony and strengthening bonds within families and communities. He urged citizens to remain dedicated to the peace, unity, and progress of the nation, emphasizing that the Christmas period offers an opportunity for both spiritual reflection and national renewal.


"As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us show kindness and goodwill to one another, transcending our differences," he said.


The minister assured Nigerians of the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the country. He also expressed optimism in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s Administration, predicting a brighter and more prosperous economy in 2025.


Dr. Tunji-Ojo concluded by wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
