South Africa Eases Visa Rules For Nigerian Tourists, Entrepreneurs – Presidency

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a streamlined visa process for Nigerian tourists and business people during the opening of the 11th Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town.

The event, attended by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, highlighted efforts to deepen economic ties between the two nations.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Ramaphosa revealed that qualifying Nigerian businesspeople could now secure five-year multiple entry visas.

“Our simplified visa process will allow Nigerian businesspeople to travel more easily to South Africa,” said Ramaphosa. He emphasized the need to remove barriers to investment and resolve challenges faced by businesses operating in both countries.

Marking 30 years of diplomatic relations, Ramaphosa reaffirmed South Africa’s openness to Nigerian enterprises and expressed optimism about enhanced economic cooperation. He also commended Nigeria’s reforms aimed at bolstering a business-friendly environment and invited Nigerian companies to explore investment opportunities in South Africa.

Looking ahead, Ramaphosa pledged to address Africa’s development challenges and those of the Global South at the upcoming G20 summit.
